Old-Fashioned Sour Cream-Chocolate Cake

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 4 tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Beat sour cream, sugar and eggs. Stir soda and cocoa into hot water. Stir into cream mixture. Add vanilla. Add flour and salt; beat until mixed. Pour into two greased and floured 8-inch cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until top springs back with the touch of a finger.
